ReplyDeletedang sean you weren't kidding about the new psychedelic horseshit!! definitely worthy of being called the best so far this year.... sounds like iran x excepter
ReplyDeletethat Black Devil Disco Club was pretty interesting. liked that one quite a bit. also, that Tune-Yards was really good too. they're probably about to blow up big time having just got mentioned high up on the hype chart in Rolling Stone.
ReplyDeleteUgh jesus I just wrote the longest comment about black devil disco club on my phone only to have is vanish into the ether when I hit post. Anyway rob check out the first album he did (black devil - disco) in the 70s, its so good that when rephlex reissued it people suspected it was actually RDJ recording under a pseudonym (of course, people think that about everything rephlex puts out...)
ReplyDeleteAlso rolling stone is completely irrelevant these days so I doubt tuneyards hype will be affected by that
ReplyDeleteyeah that psychedelic horseshit album is ridiculous, it also reminds me of what would happen if black dice and ween jammed on a budget, also if you like his vocals you should really check out the frogs' first two albums, and the shit also has a definite touch of sun city girls.
ReplyDeletealex as for your list i am really digging the black devil disco club, and clams casino
rob-lovin the egyptrixx and clams casino as well
another one i didnt put on this list but deserves it is the new shabazz palaces album, shit is pretty fuckin good
